Descriptionhalibut hook and float. a) halibut hook, v shaped, of one piece of wood with an iron point 15cm long tied at one end of one arm with strips of spruce root. end of other arm carved as an otter which hold a fish in its fore paws. part of a rope passing through a hole in second arm which is partly wrapped with strips of spruce root. line of cedar bark tied around shank and passing through two holes in float, one in the front, one in the back of it.
b) float of one piece of wood, carved as an otter. two white beads for eyes. attached to hook by means of cedar bark line.
