Descriptionmodel totem pole, of argillite, carved from a solid block with figures surmounting a flat base, and a hollowed back. a female shaman stands on top, wearing a headdress, dance apron, and holding a rattle in each hand. she wears a large labret, and her fface is wrinkled at the corners of mouth and eyes. headdress is crested, with marking of claws on her left side and feathers (split u forms)on her right. she stands on the back of an eagle, whose wings are held back, and whose head twists back to its left. the eagle stands on or holds a salmon, whcih is palced horizontally, its tail at the right edge and open mouth touching the left. bottom figgure has head of a bear, with wings, and an inverted symmetric tai, as of a whale, coming from base of pole.
