DescriptionBlack and white photograph of the remains of Jesse Bridden's plank road, built 1919-20. It ran from Masset to Tow Hill. So successful was this type of road that it was adopted for the 12 mile stretch from Tlell to Port Clements a few years later. It was quite economical and well adapted for the sandy and muskeg country.
