DescriptionCarved cedar memorial pole with figures from bottom to top (pole at far right in photo): Beaver with a bear or a wolf between the ears and a human face carved into the beaver's upturned tail, surmounted by 10 "potlatch rings"or skil. Evidence of restoration can be seen in the carving of the beaver. Several wood inserts have been configured and carved to replace sections that had rotted. The entire interior of the pole has been fortified with a fibreglass skin that holds the sections of the pole in place. The top figure, a carved eagle, was originally a separate piece attached to the top of the pole. See Nb1.775b.
