Descriptioncircular cedar crown, made from two semicircles bound at joints with leather thong and wooden pegs. painted silver grey. holes drilled at regular intervals into top edge; filled with large feather quills, broken off at the surface of the wood. across top of crown is a strut, nailed in place, wooden eye hole protruding at each end. a wide slot is cut out of centre of strut and a certical wooden column is fasteneed here by means of a wooden pin passing laterally through the strut and column. allowing column to swing in an arc parallel to strut. string loop passes through eye holes to column, where a brass grommet around column enables it to be activated by pulling string. two other short strings attached to base of crown have no clean funcction. one leather thong on each side, possibly to tie crown to head of wearer.
