DescriptionBlack and white photograph of the bottom of a Davis raft laced with 1 1/4" cable to the outside sticks. Size of raft was governed by the bar at the entrance to Masset Inlet that it had to pass over. Larger rafts built at Aliford Bay and Cumshewa used 2 1/2" cable. They could also be up to 550 feet long and contain 2-2 1/2 million feet of logs.
