Descriptionwolf head carved in high relief, parted lips reveal 2 rows of opercula shell teeth. eyes a perforated disc of abalone shell. small rectangles of abalone shell set into flat border around face. face painted green, border, red. ears (a, b) set into slots in back of border. full figure of a man carved in centre, with red border inlaid with abalone rectangles. traces of down on (?) side of ears, outer edge many 18" long tufts of grey hair flowing down. thong ties at back.
in the photo's no ears are visible (lost).
