Descriptionline, for fishing, made from several lengths of kelp that have been soaked, stretched, twisted, dried and knotted together at ends to form a long narrow line, circular in cross section. knot used is made by overlapping ends and tying each end once over other end with self knot. line is bronish yellow in colour and coiled in roughly elliptical shape. within coil, line forms paired strands at several places where it is lashed with a strip of bark (?) or split spruce root. ends of line are paired and knotted together 6.6cm from end. one end of coil is secured together by a piece of string wrapped around three times.
