DescriptionCarved argillite totem pole, representing the following figures from bottom to top: Grizzly bear with sculpin emerging from bear's stomach; Dogfish shark with two fins in the form of human heads wearing Raven beak headdresses. The top figure is a woman wearing a shark headdress with the tail of the shark below her wrapping around the back of her head. The totem pole has a deep concave back. The pole was attached to the base with 3 pegs. White glue residue, from a possible repair is visible where the pole is attached to the base. Natural fracture lines and mineral deposits are evident in the argillite.On View
