Descriptionwith handle and carved floral design. cup is carved from single piece of grey black argillite and is cylindrical in cross section with vertical sides and flat base and rim. roughly c shaped handle projects horizontally from one side just below rim, curving down and inward to rejoin side just above base; outer edges are bevelled. floral design carved on exterior consists of long thin stem emerging from handle base, encircling cup and terminating in circular eight petalled flower with identical flowers on stem at midpoint and near handle. each flower has tiny circular indentatioin at centre, possibly created by use of compass. between each adjacent pair of flowers, there are three pairs of opposed lanceolate leaves. raised band encircles cup sides near base and rim. on interior, sides are covered by fine incised lines and there is single circular indentation in base. collectors number 1475 is printed with red paint on exterior near rim. letter r is faintly printed in white on exterior of base.
