Descriptiondance apron made of three pieces of heavily fulled black wool twill (faded to dark brown) joined by butted seams. across the centre, a strip of red broadcloth with beaded edge above a slashed leather fringe originally terminating in brass thimbles. below this, a row of stitches showing loss of a line of pendants. across the lower edge a row of red broadcloth inverted lozenges edged with beeads, above a quill band, shaped in weaving to produce a wavved band. the lower edge of this is trimmed with a slashed fringe, quill wrapped and decorated with small glass bugles and elaeagnus sseeds, and terminating in puffin bills. the sewing appears to be donee with linen thread and two ply cotton sewing thread.
