Descriptionspear (a) and lanyard, and case (b). male, metal spear with 3 sets of barbs. the crosss section is an isosceles triangle. 7 pairs of equilateral barbs are arranged symmetrically on flat face. 6 barbs run along the joint between the equal sides, which are concave. distal end expands at point where shackle rivetted. copper shackle curves, has plainted gut lanyard attached. lanyard is leather wrapped at shackle and gut wrapped at loop at other end. case, of cedar split longitudinally, is notched at the ends. there are 3 grooves: the distal one with root binding proximal with commercial twine, and central empty. end is u shaped. hole is symmetric. for fur seal or sea otter.
