Descriptionargillite figure of a woman. her facce is carved in low relief and incised on an oval piece of ivory, which is glued to the head. she wears a long floor length dress which is incised with a pattern of parallel vertical lines and a set of close parallel horizontal lines about knee length. incising has given the figure a length of hair beneath the waist which is worn in a braid down her back. she holds her hands on her stomach. the flat bottom has been formed by sawing the argillite off at the skirt hem, thus eliminating feet.
