Descriptionwooden mask, representing an eagle with large hooked beak. the lower jaw is manipulated by cords. eyes made from separate pieces of wood held in place by strings. circular piece of wood with one projection which is inserted into top of head. big hole not in centre of that piecce of wood. rectangular hole under jaw. face painted green, beak and circular piece of wood painted blue, red and natural. eyebrows, eyes, upper edge of beak and underside of jaw painted black. fibre cords passed through holes around back edges of mask and knotted in centre of back. back hollowed out. two pieces of wood ( b& c ) probably ears, flat, curved and painted black, red and blue. ends of ears broken, one repaired with glue. not attached to mask. small holes in them. two short strings passed in one hole of one ear. muzzle and top of head hollowed out.
