Descriptiona wind instrument blown by the mouth carved from a single piece of wood split in half lengthwise, each half hollowed out to approx. 0.4 cm thick then bound together with a strip of dehaired skin from proximal end to centre ( skin wrapping has become very loose at centre ) forming a hollow flaring cylindrical tube, elliptical in cross section. distal end is constricted slightly 2 cm from tip delineating tapering mouthpiece. wood is stained a dark colour from centre to distal end and a lighter natural colour beneath skin wrapping. the number "205" is marked in red ink on one side of instrument at centre. on opposite side a crack ( 19 cm long ) runs from distal end towards centre. a hollow flaring cylindrical tube made in same way as instrument with lenticular shaped distal end partially closed, round proximal end split across centre forms a reed secured within instrument 38 cm from distal end, forming a narrow channel for air to pass through
