Descriptiongrooved stone head lashed to wooden handle with spruce root. head pecked and ground from single piece of grey stone into cylindrical shape. base is flat; distal end is truncated cone shape with rounded end. central groove (3.4cm wide) cut to run parallel to ends extends to base. spruce root is lashed around base of platform of handle and in groove of head. rectangular platform has handle shaft circular in cross section curving down from centre of platform. large flakes missing at proximal end on top surface.Published References'Indian Artifacts of the Northwest Coast' Hilary Stewart
