Descriptiongrooved stone head lashed to wooden handle with strip of twisted kelp. head pecked and ground from single piece of black stone into roughly cylindrical shape. distal end is truncated cone; proximal end is flat. ccentral groove (4.7cm wide) cut to run parallel to ends extends to flat base. strip of kelp is lashed around base of platform of handle and in groove of head. rectangular platform has handle shaft circular in cross section curving down from centre. carved into handle sshaft are narrow longitudinal grooves.
