Descriptionfigure, made of stone, possible used as a doll or fetish or as a sharm ( according to Newcombe ). figure is worked from a piece of white stonee (marble) with a rounded upper and lower end and two shallow u shaped scallops carvved on each side forming a representation of a human figurre. face design is pecked into upper end of one surface with arched eyebrows, circular outline of eyes, nose with narrow straight bridge and circular nostrils beneath, and straight horizontal lip in relief. figure thickens slightly towards bottom. front of figure has rough flat surface covered with a black residue on face and along edges and a rust coloured residue covers central portion. back of figure is flat and smooth with areas of black residue and rust coloured residue in small pitted areas. the number "973" is marked on the centre back of the figure.
