Descriptioncarved from a single pieece of gold coloured polished bone in an elongated shape with one edge slightly convex. opposite edge and ends are slightly concave as are upper and lower surfaces, to keep labret in place within lip incision. concavity in one surfacce was presumably originally inlaid with ap iece of haliotis shell as indicated by the documentation and by clear adhesive residue on surface. this surface has many cracks along its length and a brown residue along one edge. opposite surface has the number '750' marked in black ink and '387' marked in pencil this surface has fine cracks along centre at edges and a deep crack extending lenth of labret along one edge. cracks extend along ends of labret. small circular hole in centre of one end.
