Descriptiongrease dish, carved from a solid block of alder, with a flat bottom and curving, flaired sides. the inside has raised line around the walls, joined by another such line to the top corners. rim and ends finely finished with paralled vertical lines. each end shows face design, bilaterally symmetric, with double eye motif downward curved mouth and ears. this is surmounted by a pair of salmon head motifs flanking a cross hatched u form (beaver tail?). sides are divided in half by a horizontal line. at each corner, an inverted ovoid, with 2 u forms, extends from end design. central space is incised with many short horizontal lines. used for serving ulachon oil; soaked with grease.
