Descriptiongrease dish, carved of a block of hardwood. dish used to hold eulachon oil to dip food into, and is stained black. there are four walls, curving into well rounded corners. the ends are high, sloping slightly away from centre as they rise, and slightly convex on the outside. flat rim is level across ends, and concave on sides, sloping down on the outside. a raised line around inside walls curves up slightly toward ends, and is striaght and horizontal on the ends. a vertical line joins the rim to each end of this straight section nearly identical bilaterally symmetric designs are incised on each end, resembling a face in low relief. design continues on side with a wing like motif (u form and split u's) at each corner. a single certical line bisects each side, and the field between is carved with rows of short, horizontal, incised lines.collected in Skidegate
