Descriptionclub, for killing halibut carved from a single piece of wood (yew) with straight handle, circular in cross section. handle is constricted 14.7cm from butt end forming a narrower grip which flares at butt end. a line is incised around handl 0.9cm from butt end. another line is incised around handle 2.6cm from distal endd. handle is constricted 2.3cm from distal end and tapers towards head where it is constricted, then head flares into globular shape. head has shallow oval shaped deppression on opposite side. three parallel shallow grooves have been carved on one side of head from proximal end to centre of distal end. printed in black ink on one side of head is "161/C. Tolson/1897". the number "822" is marked impreinted on butt end of club.
