Descriptionclub, for killing seals and fish carved from a single piece of hard wood ( yew or teak according to Sapir ) with straight handle roughly circular to a rounded square in cross section. handle tapers on upper side towards proximal end of head. handle is constricted 11.2cm and 1.5cm from rounded butt forming narrower tapering grip. circular hole (1.8cm diam.) through centre of handle at one side is filled with circular wooden plug. small piece of wood is weged into one side of hole to ensure plug fits tightly. head of club is large bulbous shape with flat circular sides roughly elliptical in cross section with deeply incised spiral design carved ons ides. two small circular depressions Iinsect damage?) at point of spiral on one side. the number '155' is printed in red innk on side of handle. small bits of translucent shell (?) embedded in distal end of head.On View
