Descriptionminiature feast dish, of wood, possibly maple, long with pointed ends in the style of Kwakiutle dishes for dried fish. sides flare slightly toward corners, ends are convex. outside walls are concave at ends and on sides, base is flat, with sharply defined corners. interior of dish is concave, with red ovoid surmounted by a u form on opposite corners painted in the centre. at each end, a face design with mouth toward centre is painted in black and red on a surface whose shape follows contour of edge. the whole is edged by a 1/2" band of red, and a narrow band of black on the outer rims.Exhibition HistoryExhibit Comm.
