Descriptioncarved in argillite to represent beave. actual bowl is formed from animal's body, semi ovate in shape. head and limbs are three dimensional; a stick is held in the mouth and grasped at either end by forepaws. teeth of upper jaw are overlaid with white bone (4 pieces missing), and presumably same material originally covvered front teeth (now only glue remains). eyes are formed from abalone shell, and small rectangles of abalone are inlaid on stick (one inlay missing). tail is carved downturned against back off bowl. small scratched markings on exterior to represent fur.Exhibition HistoryQCI E9.2.107/c (5-76) - (6-84)
