Descriptionkillerwhale fin at back, man inside, bird on top. exterior face of a killerwhale opens down centre, copper hinges at sides. face all graphite black, with copper brows, lips, and discs on cheeks. narrow red rim all around double row, of teeth also red, and eye outline. fine 12" high sewn to back of framwork to fit wearers head. interior face - man, with mouth open painted moustache and gout(?). strings through his pupils support opened halves. design painted the same on each half colours on inside, light, blue, red, and black on natural wood. small carved wood eagle's head, fits onto 'u' shaped extension at back of killerwhale. cotton lace moves lower jaw. red painted tongue in mouth. eye and beak light blue, nostrils and inside mouth red, rest of head, white.
