Descriptioncarved wooden bowl, possibly of maple, to hold eulachon grease for meals and feasts. walls flare out slightly form centre, are slightly convex outsside and concave inside. rim 3/4" wide, is concave on sides and convex on ends. bowl is stained dark and somewhat greasy. end incised with bilaterally symmetric designs, of similar form but wiht some variation in the detail. designs on sides are identical, possibly representing a body and limb of a creature. five vertical grooves are at the corners of each side, and a single one across each side beneath the rim.
