Descriptiona) disk, made from a single piece of stained cedar (from documentation) carvved into roughly circular shape. one side iss flat and is lightly incised with six concentri circles. a circular hole 0.3cm in diameter is drilled through the centre. surfacce of opposite side rises from the edge towards circular hole in the centre. hole is 2.3cm in diameter, 2.0cm deep in accommodate end of stick (b). ''908" in black ink on convex surface. "908" on disc may represent a collectors number, however, this number in Newcombe's notes refers to VII-B-515, a killer whale fin. "574" on shaft is correct collectors number.b) stick, made from a single pieece of natural cedar (from documentation). shaft is circular in cross section withs slightly facetted surfaces and tapers to a sharp point at one end. opposite end constricts slightly and is cut straight for insertion into circular hole in disc (a). "574" in pencil on shaft.
