Descriptionharpoon point lanyward and foreshaft. iron point of harpoon is long and flat, with pointed end, bound to goat horn valves by nettle or cotton cord. the lashing is coated with resin. lanyard of sinew (whale?) joins point to foreshaft. lanyward tied to foreshaft (hemlock) with cord near wider end. both ends of foreshaft taper to flat point. lanyard end is knotted.
