Descriptionhook, for fishing, made from two pieces of wood (hemlock knots) of unequal length, carved to a lenticular shape in cross section. each wood splint has been steamed and bent, one in the shape of a u tapering to a blunt tip at one end and flattened along one side at other end with an angled tip and notch cut below tip on other side. other splint is a rounded l shape tapering to a point at one end forming barb and other end flattened where it is lashed to flattened end of u shaped splint with split spruce root, forming a u shaped hook with barb bent across to within 1.2cm of blunt tip. blunt end is lashed with split spruce root to hold a leader made of two...
