Descriptionhalibut hook, u shaped,, of one piece of hemlock cut from knot, smoothed wiht stones, steamed over hot ashes and bent whiel soft. one arm bevelled at end, point of bone lashed in. bone rubbed smooth with sharkskin, lashed on with spruce root. lead of 2 ply cedar bark rope attached to other arm with spruce root. end of rope bound by rawhide. rope attached to float by 2 root ties. these each pass through 2 holes in float. float shaped and decorated to resemble halibut, and is flat bottomed.
