Descriptiongroup of ffiteen paint brushes. thirteen are made from narrow pieces of cedar that have been split at the top and porcupine quill bristles inserted. the splits have been bound with string. the remaining two brushes have been made from whalebone with the bristles inserted the same way. the brush end is broken off one whalebone brush. all brushes are covered in red, black, brown, blue and green paint.
handle is made from a single piece of wood. elliptical in cross section tapers to straight cut proximal end. metal strip and bristles of porcupine quills are inserted into cut in wood at distal end, and secured with a wrapping of twisted string. string is covered with blue paint; red and blue paint on handle.
