Descriptionrattle of wood, carved and painted. rattle represents a raven with sun in its mouth, man lying on bird's back, sharing a curved tongue with a thunderbird. tongue tied to man's mouth with sinew. hawk face on underside of rattle. rattle made of two parts joined with sinew sewing on body, one wooden peg for handle and string wrapping around handle. painted red, black and blue, green. underside partly broken and repaired with sinew. handle tapering.
