Descriptionstraight sided vylinder type with the sides perpeendicular to the base and the diameter of the circular mouth equal to the base. slightly concave circular base has a daial start of spruce root (3.5cm in diameteer) fastened with a weft of same in two ply z twist twining technique. remainder of base is worked in alternately two ply z twist twining and simple checker weave. decoration on base consists of two concentric rows worked around circumference of two ply z twist twining with one weft dyed green. stitches are alternately plain and dyed green with pattern visible on interior and exterior surfaces. the foundation is then bent over the sides to become the warp. some foundation strands are split to form two narrower warps. body is worked in two ply z twist twining technique for 8cm in 6 horizontal bands. three bands of plain spruce root 8 to 9 rows wide alternate with 3 bands (of 6 rows) decorated with stitches dyed brown. in the upper and lower bands plain stitches alternate with stitches dyed brown to form a checker pattern. in the centrre band vertical rows of plain stitches alternate with vertical rows of stitches dyed brown. 3.4cm band around mouth is decorated with 14x repeated - motif woven in z twist twill twining technique on a background of two ply z twist twining. two rows of two ply z twist twining are woven around the moth. to form the rim, the warp strands are truncated just above the last weft rrow and are secured with a four strand braid. dyed wefts are visible on interior.
