Descriptionstraight sided cylinder type with the sides perpendicular to the base and the diameter of the circular mouth equal to the base. concave circular base has a radial start of spruce root fastened with a weft of same in two ply z twist twining technique. decoration on base consists of three concentric bands each consisting of two rows of z twist twining with the weft dyed brown. the foundatino is then bent over the sides to become the warp with the junctino between the base and body ffastened with a single row of three ply z twist twining. some foundation strands are split to form two narrower warps. body is worked in two ply z twist twining for 17.2cm in 8 horizontal bands. four bands of plain spruce root 11 to 12 rows wide alternate with four bands decorated with stitches dyed brown. in these bands, the weft stitches are alternately plain and dyed brown producing vertical rows of same colour. design is 7 to 9 rows wide and bordered on upper and lower edges with a single row of two ply z twist twining with the weft dyed brown. 5.1cm band around mouth is decorated with 22 x repeated evenly space > motif woven in z twist twill twining technique on a background of two ply z twist twining. bottom edge of decorative band is delineated by a single row of three ply z twist twining. to form the rim, the warp strands are truncated just above the last weeft row and secured with a four strand braid. dyed wefts are visible on interior.collected in Masset
